update

So I haven't posted in a really long time. I thought today would be a good day to update. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!

Everyone's been talking about Twilight. I went to see the movie at midnight with my friend Nicole. It was pretty good but I don't think anything could ever match up to the movie. I'm looking forward to the next three movies though. I'm not so sure it was worth waiting four hours in the cold with a sinus infection though.

I've been going to the doctors lately for my wrist. On the x-ray it showed that I have a fracture on the right side of my left wrist. See I'm not making it up!! They had me come back for an MRI. I had to sit completely still for an hour in this cold room with a machine that kept making wierd knocking sounds. The MRI showed that I have torn ligaments as well as my fracture. So now I have to wear a wierd thing called a thumb spike that's supposed to make it heal, however, the spot that my fracture is in doesn't get much blood so it's hard for it to heal. The doctor said not to be suprised if the hand surgeon says that I'll need surgery to put in a screw so that it can heal. I almost want surgery just so that it doesn't hurt anymore because considering I"m left handed, I can only write for so long before it starts shaking. I can't lean my head on my hand when I get bored in class because it hurts too much. I can't tumble in cheer either. It's just causing me a lot of trouble. So I hope our insurance covers it.

Let's see, what else is new?? My friends from Wyoming visited a few weeks ago. I haven't seen them since last school year! They came up for only two days so they could help their mom pack. She's been in Flagstaff this whole time they've been in Wyoming and I think she finally just decided to move with her family. Me and Jessica went over to her apartment to help her pack and to see Vince and Frankie. I miss all my friends that left to Wyoming. I feel like I haven't seen Kaylin in forever either!! I really wish I could go visit all of them.

Claire is getting so big! She's the cutest thing ever. I painted her nails the other night but she just couldn't stay still so they got a little bit messy. I love it when she screams to herself instead of cooing like most babies, Claire just screams. It's funny. Poor thing still has no hair. We always put a headband on her since we have no hair to deal with. The Lundell's just had a baby and named her Miley. She's so tiny! She makes Claire look like a monster.

End of Football Season, and the election.

Finally! The football season has come to an end. It seems like it's lasted so long! It would feel so good to just have a second to catch my breath, except now I have competition practice every day, and just around the corner is basketball. No more dancing to band music! WOO HOO! It was a lot of fun starting off the football season but now that I think of it, cheering for a loosing football team is only fun for so long. It gets old fast and it's really sad when people ask me if I think we'll win and without a doubt I answer "nope." S
adly, we still have the best football team in Flagstaff!! Maybe, if or when they combine us with Sinagua, we'll have a better team. Next week we have spirit week and a pep assembly on Friday. (I'm going to see Twilight at midnight on Thursday so wish me luck. I could end up falling asleep in the middle of my routine!) But now I wave goodbye to yet another football season and prepare myself for the rest of the year.

I never posted about the election! Prop 102 passed! and so did prop 8 in California!! That's the exciting news. I wish I had been old enough to vote in this election. Even now that the election is over, I still argue with peers about politics. No one seems to understand what I believe and why I think the way I do, much less
do they respect it. I would say 95% of my friends at school are democrats. The funny thing is, they don't even know why! Whenever I put up a debate with them they don't know what to say and I still stick to my word that Barack Obama does not have enough experience to be the leader of our country. I mean look at the guy! He doesn't even put his hand over his heart in the pledge!!
Their main reason to support Barack Obama is because their parents do, but I encourage everyone to actually listen to the speeches in the future elections and comprehend what they're saying instead of just joining the band wagon. I think the reason I believe the things I do is because I was raised to see things that way. I give my friend Jennifer props for  deciding on her own to support John McCain when the rest of her family were supporters of Obama. She had been a supporter of Obama before but went and read a book by him and then had a different outlook. The way things were looking a few weeks before the election, the media made it obvious who would win in the end, but I am still proud to say that I stood up for my beliefs and I didn't give up on McCain. I still think he would be a much better leader for our country, but no matter what, we all still need to stand up for our beliefs and be proud to be a citizen of the wonderful country we live in.

Thriller Night!

Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone had fun trick or treating tonight!
I got to cheer at a fantabulous football game tonight.
Yay me..
But at least we won!
Since it is Halloween, we got
to do our halftime to Thriller, by Michael Jackson.
It was SO fun to learn the
dance!
We wore torn up white shirts and
we painted our faces like Zombies.
This is me and Emily after our halftime,
We get a break third quarter to catch our breath a little.
Tomorrow, I have a cheer clinic from 11-3:30.
and after that I have to cheer for Volleyball!
It's going to be such a busy day.
Honestly, I don't know why I'm still up,
I need sleep.

A Night to Remember!

Last night I went to see High School Musical 3!!! It was SO good! I loved it. I went with a bunch of my friends. It was so funny because before the movie they showed a preview for a movie called "17 Again"

and Alane screamed so loud when she saw that the main character was of course, the hearthrob of the generation, stunning and utterly PERFECT guy who won our hearts in the movie we were waiting to see, Zac Efron. Haha, he is what makes the movie so good! It kind of goes to show how fast high school really goes. Before we know it, we'll all be going off to college!
Besides the movie last night, my poor little Trenton had to go to the hospital because of his croupe. It was not a lot of fun at all. I was really worried about him but he's all good! Hopefully it doesn't get that bad again tonight!

NObama 08"

So I have a friend named Emliy Parry, and we are both strong republicans. Considering that Flagstaff is a democratic city in the majority, we decided to make our opinions known and stand up for our beliefs. On Friday, Emily came over to my house and we made these shirts.

This is the front
and this is the back.
They say... NObama. Yes We Can- raise taxes and make everything cost more. Hope- you can still afford groceries. Change- is all you'll have left in your pocket. At the top of the back it has my last name and underneath it says, If Obama is the answer, you asked a stupid question. Forget the zero, elect a hero. McCain 08". Now once again, considering that Flagstaff is a democratic city in the majority, there was more than a handful of kids at school who strongly disagreed with me when I wore this shirt to school today. It ranged from being pushed into lockers in the school hallway, to being yelled at and called words like "racist". Teachers kept their mouths closed, but only because they had to. Some teachers would discretely try to read my shirt to decide whether or not I should be sent to the office and call a parent to tell them that my shirt was "innappropriate", and other teachers would just stop and stare in the hall. However! I have had almost half as many compliments on my shirt as well! Right now, I currently have at least ten requests from students at school to make them a shirt and I am making them for anyone who wants one. I think that just because we aren't old enough to vote in the elections yet, doesn't mean we should not make our opinions known. We are the future generation of this country and we need to stand up for what we believe in. Don't be afraid of what others may think of you or what they might say. One of my favorite quotes from President Monson that I won't ever forget hearing at EFY is "Dare to be a Mormon, dare to stand alone, dare to have a purpose firm, and dare to make it known." I can literally apply this to my everyday life. Don't let the opinions of others persuade you to believe in something else, and no matter what, always stand up for what you believe.

Long Time... No Post!

(this is Jessica and I. On monday we had a photo shoot in our design and merchandising class and we took this picture.)
Sorry I haven't posted in SO long! I've been so busy. Our semester is almost half over! I've been working really hard on getting good grades, and so far I give myself credit for it because I still have straight A's. Homecoming week was the busiest week of my life! Being on student counsel and cheer is TWICE the responsibility. Every day, we had things to do. Dodgeball tournaments, volleyball games, bonfires, a pep assembly, the homecoming game, and a dance. It was pure insanity. But I'm glad the busiest week of the year is over. Our theme for the dance was GLOW WHITE, and everyone wore white clothing because we had 600-800 watts of black lights in our gym. It was really neat. Now we're moving on to our Winter Formal, which the Sophomores are in charge of. Our theme is going to be Mascarade. It's a lot of fun to get together for student counsel and plan these type of things. For the week of Halloween, we're having a rock band tournament at our school. It's going to be SOOOOO awesome! I can't wait.
band is gonna rock the school! We have Emily Berryhill on the drums, Jane singing, Joe on the bass, and I'm on guitar. We also have Erica as our band manager, and Emily Parry as the groupie/mic stand/fog machine. We're going to dominate! I can't wait for it. My dad's birthday was on Wednesday. He's 37 years old now! He's such a great dad, and the only one I've ever known. He does so much for me and our family. I'm so grateful to have him as my dad. Other than that, not much is new. Winter's on it's way, it gets shorter and colder every day! I can't wait for the snow! Snowbowl, here I come!!

My Weekend

So this weekend I stayed with Jessica. We were intending on going to the track meet this morning. But we ended up sleeping in WAY too late! I guess it's just because I wake up at five, five days a week, my brain decided to take advantage of that and I slept in until eleven thirty. When I woke up I asked Jessica if we were going and she said ya but then I looked at the clock and we were already thirty minutes late. Courtney said it was alright if we didn't go because I guess only a few girls went. Then we went to the mall for about twenty minutes and we saw a movie together. Next week we have to prepare for homecoming all week long, and it will probably end up being the longest week of my life. Last night our football team played Shadow Mountain.. Sadly, we lost again. But hey, it can only get better right??

Here Comes Another Year

It's beginning to feel a lot like the beginning of another year of school! As the classes seem longer and longer each day and the homework slowly starts to reveal itself. My classes aren't too much to handle. If I keep focused at all times I can usually make it home without any homework at all! Cheer is now every day after school and I am also doing student counsel this year. It seems like a lot of work, but I think it will be worth it in the long run. We had our very first pep-assembly on Friday. It was originally schelduled for the first day of school and was post-poned three times! As if that wasn't enough for the week, we also had our first football game last night. I can't believe I nearly forgot how much work it is to cheer four quarters and perform a half time! We lost our game by ONE point. It wasn't even fair. Moon Valley decided to take a knee at twenty-five seconds and only thirty yards to go. The score was 19-20. This year, my coach is hoping to take the competition team to Nationals in Florida. They are holding tryouts again for the competition team. I am really hoping to have my back tuck by then. Morgan (my tumbling coach) has already started working on it with me so hopefully I'll catch on quick. Student counsel is already planning homecoming week because it's really early this year (the end of September). Our dance is going to be really cool! But I won't give away any details. In short, my week seemed like a month. I feel like I'm suffering from a serios case of sleep deprivation. But I can't complain. All is well. I have twenty pages left of Eclipse! Which I'm going to finish reading as soon as I'm done typing this. Hahaha one last thing I thought I would share... This morning as we were getting ready for church, Zane walked into the bathroom with a box of dental floss and a strand of about a yard already pulled out. He looks at my mom and says, "Mom, will you cut this for me? I want a snack." I just about fell over laughing. When my mom told him he can't eat dental floss for a snack he put on his pout face and said, "fine then! I'm not going to church!" and stomped off. I thought it was pretty funny. The things kids say. It's great.

Good News

Movie News Flash!
So I'm not sure if anyone has heard, but the release of the sixth Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, has been moved from this Thanksgiving to next summer. I suppose that might be a bummer for some people out there but it doesn't bother me one bit because... Summit Films has decided that us Twilight fans will get to see our movie THREE WEEKS earlier than the sceduled December 12th movie release date! Yes, that means that Twilight will be released on November 21st! I can't WAIT! I finish New Moon last week, and although it was a little depressing at the beginning it got really good at the end. I'm not going to give out any details in case anyone out there hasn't gotten that far yet (and I can't imagine anyone who hasn't because it seems I am far behind everyone else). But now i'm almost half way through Eclipse. These books are so great! When I finish the series I think I'm going to have to read it over again because I just can't get enough!

First day of school!

Yesterday was my first day of tenth grade! It was one of the longest days I've had in a long time. I only had about 5 hours of sleep because due to summer I was used to going to bed at midnight or later, so I couldn't sleep and then I had to get up at 5 for early morning seminary. My classes seem like they might be a little bit challenging this year. My first semester consists of Spanish 1A, World History, Design and Merchandising, and Algebra II. My second semester is Chemistry, Advanced Math Concepts, English 11, and Spanish 1B. We were supposed to have a pep assembly yesterday too, where my cheer team would be performing for the first time this year, but it was rescheduled to Wednesday. I had homework for Algebra II on the first day!!! Official cheer practice doesn't start until Monday, which is good because school has been exhausting for the past two days. But I'm really hoping to get straight A's this year! Wish me luck! And good luck to anyone starting school soon!

Happy (late) Birthday Kaylin!

So yesterday was my friend Kaylin's 18th birthday. I would've posted this yesterday but I spent the night at Jessica's last night. Kaylin is one of my BEST friends. She has always been there for me and even though we're a few years apart, she's like a sister to me. Kaylin is going to college this year =[ It's a bummer. I'm really going to miss her. A few months ago she said she would be going to college in Wyoming. Then she changed her mind and decided to stay here to help coach our cheer squad. But just a couple weeks ago, she announced that she had been offered a position on the cheer team at the college in Wyoming so she'd be going after all. I am happy for her because she's doing something she wants to do, we're all just going to miss her a lot. Yesterday, we went to Oreganos after cheer for her birthday. We had to wait over an hour to be seated! But it was fun to visit with friends outside of cheer for once. Jessica and I got her a Hannah Montana dvd and a High School Musical 2 toothbrush that sings. We all like Hannah Montana and High School Musical so we just had to get it Haha. Well I send my best wishes to Kaylin this year at college!

Twilight

I finished Twilight yesterday. Everyone else has probably already read it. It's really popular. But I started reading it, like a year ago. I was only about thirty pages into it and wasn't too interested but when summer came around and I had nothing to do I picked it back up, and finished it in a couple weeks. This is an AMAZING book and that says something for me because I hate reading. The movie comes out in theaters on December 12th, and I suggest everyone see it =]

Happy Birthday Austin!!

Today is my cousin Austin's 14th birthday.. Austin is a lot of fun to have around. He's always happy and he brings a lot of excitement to our family. He has a great sense of humor. He is also an amazing piano player. He can pretty much sit down and play anything you ask him to. We have a lot of great memories, like convincing Mason to take us to taco bell in Nauvoo. He's grown up so fast! He went from being Monkey Boy to a great young man. He thinks it's just facsinating how much taller he is than Ashlyn and I. On our last trip to Laguna Beach, Austin let us straighten his hair. It was lots of fun =] He is a great example to everyone in our family. We love him very much.. Happy Birthday Aust!!!!

Watch out everyone!

I got my permit today. Just so everybody knows, I DID take the test already once before and I failed it. haha It's a hard test! I guess I just rushed myself a little bit because afterwards I realized how easy the question was and wondered how I could possibly get it wrong. (like the question about what to do at a yellow light haha). But now I only have six months 'till I get my licensep

EFY- BYU Provo. July 7-12, 2008

So this week Ashlyn and I flew from Orange County to Salt Lake City to go to EFY at BYU Provo. We made a lot of friends. Like Angie (in that picture.), Zack, Karen, Max, Tanner, Nick, Brooke, and the UNFORGETABLE Quaid from Australia! haha This is a picture of us with himHe was so funny. He had an amazing accent! Ashlyn and i got a kick out of him. We had a GREAT time. Even though we woke up super early and went to bed really late, it was totally worth it. We had some amazing speakers and counsellors. Although, getting there, and getting back was a little hectic. Our flight was 45 minutes late leaving Orange County because of technical difficulties and we had a shuttle waiting for us in Salt Lake. We got there too late and our shuttle left us. It was kind of funny now that i look back on it, Me and Ashlyn running around the airport with no idea what to do. Haha as she dragged her 40 pound suitcase up the stairs and everyone stared awkwardly at her (i was smart and took the elevator.) haha ashlyn is so funny i love her to death. We became great friends this last week. We shared a dorm, which you'll see if you scroll down a little bit. On our way home, we had different airlines to different destinations. I was flying back to Phoenix where my parents were picking me up, and she was flying back to Laguna for a One Republic concert last night. We took the shuttle to the airport and i got off before, as my flight was with south west and hers was with Delta. Everything went fine with me, I printed my boarding pass, checked my luggage, and walked all the way to my gate without getting lost! However Ashlyn ran into a problem. I guess the lady at the desk yelled at her because she wasn't allowed to fly underage. I specifically told her though that she was 15 (because they'll let you check yourself in if you're 15) but she forgot and told them she was 14. They wouldn't let her fly out of Salt Lake. I felt really bad for her! But luckily her mom managed to get her a flight on south west to Phoenix four hours later and a two hour lay over before flying to Laguna but she had to miss her concert. She decided to stay in Phoenix. Poor Ash, she doesn't have very good luck. (she lost her key at camp and almost had to pay 30 dollars for a new one too!!!)
These are the boys in my Company at EFY. They're a funny group. Even though they're all younger than me!

These were our camp counsellors. Allie, Colby, and Melissa

These are the girls in my Company. haha Ashlyn and I are in the very front. I smiled like a dork in that picture.

This is MY side of our dorm..............

And this is Ashlyn's side. LOL.

This is Austin back in Laguna Beach on 4th of July. Jason dared him and Tyler to wear speedos all day at the beach for 50 dollars each and they took the dare. There were hundreds of people there too! Those two are brave souls.

This is the view from my Grandparent's balcony as the sun was setting.
my group performed on this stage and Ashlyn and I were in the musical program at EFY. We sang on the SAME stage as David Archuleta. He was in the variety show two years before we went to BYU, Provo.

.............oh and P.S. to everyone! I made Varsity!!!

My crazzy summer

So I just got back from Girls Camp yesterday. It was a lot of fun. It was from Wednesday to Saturday. I have cheer every Wednesday from 10-12 a.m. and it just so happened everyone was leaving to camp at ten that morning! I really didn't want to miss practice because I heard they were choosing stunt groups. So I went to practice and Cheryle took me to camp after cheer.  I am so grateful for her to take me. I love Cheryle! She does so much for me. The fourth years always have an overnight hike for certification. I was totally not excited about it because we had to carry all our our stuff there! But it didn't even seem like six miles. The place we stayed was really cool. Even though it was raining and lightning, it was lots of fun. And then, a couple weeks ago, I was asked to speak in church when I got back about my experience at girls camp so i got to speak in church today! yay, everyone's favorite thing right? We're leaving to Laguna Beach on Wednesday for July 4th. It will be Claire's first road trip. It will be interesting to see how that goes. I fly out of Laguna next week for EFY in Utah. It should be a lot of fun i'm excited.

Check out my Slide Show!

Eagles Cheer 2008-2009

This year, I'm going to be a sophomore at FHS and I've worked really hard to earn myself the privledge to be a Varsity Cheerleader by going to tumbling with Morgan so that I could have my standing backhandspring before tryouts. I was so excited when tryouts came around and couldn't wait to see the results but unfortunately, our cheer coach decided that she wouldn't tell us which team we made until July 7th. I'm really bummed out. But hopefully I can show my coach that my skill (and attitude) have improved a lot in the last year and still make it on Varsity.
